Question help at the talk command syntax


when ever i try the command
talk st2
an error messgae appears like CANNOT READ FROM TALK DAEMON: CONNECTION REFUSED
here st2 is the username
can any 1 give me the correct syntax

Is the talk daemon installed and running?

ya its on

basically we were connected to redhat system through telnet
through this we were trying the talk command to another system but is not connecting
