Help


Having difficulty installing a new graphics card on suse 10.3
Gforce 9200SE - i put the card in start the machine & nothing, when i put the old card back it does the same thing. if i load back the img of the hard drive & boot the machine its all good. what am i missing

What do you mean by nothing? The machine doesn't even boot, or it boots up and you don't see any image? Do you see the POST screens at least when the machine powers on?

Also, for future reference, you should make your topic titles more descriptive so people know what you are asking about.

the machine boots fine. just does not load any OS - is there something that im supposed to do before i install the harware. bare in mind here that i'm new to linux atm.

Do you get any kind of error message? A GRUB error perhaps?

Tell us what the screen looks like after it has booted.

no error at all. the screen is just blank, hence my i get nothing. i have tested to card on two other machines with a bench mark. it passes them all. i'm guessing that suse shouls pic the card up & use some generic driver just to get a basic output to the screen right.
