linuxmint 12 works fine but if i install lm 13 no sound what can i do

You can start by providing details, like what kind of sound hardware you have, how you did the 12 to 13 upgrade, etc. You've told us nothing to let us even begin to help you.

Also, you need to read the LQ rules and guidelines about posting, specifically as they relate to your subject. Just saying "help" says nothing about your problem.
