How do I stop running GNOME and start running Sawfish?

And I want sawfish to be the default window manager, how do I config this?

What distro are you using? If you boot to X upon startup, then what desctop manager is on your hands, kdm,gdm,xdm?

also try switchdesk utility it can be run from a command line

I am booting to XWindows then to gdm.
