Hello... it's funny, I've been coming to Linux Questions for a long time now, and I've finally realized to introduce myself. This site has proved indispensable in my quest to tame the beast known as Linux. I love the community, and the varying degrees of interpretation on each problem.
Anyway, the name's Xadrith. Just wanted to say hello and thank you...
And, oh yeah... a newbie question. I've had my eye on the Enlightenment GUI for sometime now. I was just wondering if there is some sort of uber guide or page that can dumb things down (just a little).
I downloaded all the required data a couple nights ago (imlib2/imlib2loaders/e16 files) but when I configured and compiled the main program couldn't seem to link itself to the im2lib libraries? The pkg-config program that is.
It's funny, like all things Linux (thus-far), I learn something else new with every new thing I am trying to learn... information overload. I love it.
Anyway, hope you enjoyed the verbose post. I'll be floating around the boards.
Welcome to LQ. Much as you did, I perused these boards for a while before I took the plunge into Linux.
Specifically, I looked at the problems users were having with distros, focused on distros posing the least problems, checked distrowatch, checked distro forums, and selected what I perceived to be the least troublesome distro at that time. There were only 80 distros listed at distrowatch.
Since that time, my chosen distro merged with another company, and the whole lot took a dive into perdition.
Alas, back to the drawing board. Settled on Suse then. Been a reasonably happy camper since then.

In terms of "can't link itself" ... can you post the exact error message(s)?
Also, imlib2 (to the best of my knowledge) isn't just data but a library, and
as such needs to be installed and the path where it lives should be made known
to programs by checking that it's part of /etc/ld.so.conf ...
