Headphone jack on CDROM how get sound out?

How do you listen to a music CD via the head phone jack plug socket on the front of the cd drive? Preferably with cdparanoia if possible.

Thanks any help.

Hmmm mine works fine using KsCD though, my understanding is cdparanoia is a cd 2 wav/pcm ripper, I don`t think it`s a CD Audio Player. Not sure though since I haven`t used it.

Yes it is a ripper. So ignorant though this meant it played the cd. Or at least it rips, because it says so, maybe it plays too. Who can tell?
