I want to install RHEL-4 in my computer. My HDD is SATA and main board Intel 945GNT, Ram-512MB,DDR2. During installation i see the message that no hard drive found. What can i do now?
My guess, is you'll either need to manually load the SATA chipset drivers or step up a distro that automatically detects and loads SATA drivers. I would check with RH site and check the Hardware Compatibility Lists (HCLs) for your particular chipset.
For manually load the SATA chipset i think need FDD. But i have no FDD. I found a SATA HDD driver. With Pen Drive I was try but failed. If you have any SATA HDD driver please give me or give url address where i will find it. Another is I am not understand step up a distro.
RH 4 shouldn't need driver for SATA drive. I have installed many RH4 with SATA and never have problem at all. Are you sure your bios see your SATA drive????
