Got message recovering journal; also, /Dev/mapper/ubuntu--vg-root: clean, 449080/60956672, 231636224/243808256 b. Tried recovery mode: "Continuing will remount your / filesystem in read/write mode and mount any other file systems defined in etc/fstab. Continue? WILL CONTINUING POSSIBLY DELETE ANY / ALL DATA ON HDD (files)? Files are most important, HDD not.

Welcome to LQ hddfsck,

Continue will not delete any files.

Mind you, there may be corruption on your disk, but it does not have to do with running in recovery mode, instead the problem already has occurred and the system is attempting to allow you to boot it so that you may diagnose further, or copy files off to back them up.
