hda: lost interrupt

i get an hda: lost interrupt error while attempting to install mandrake 9.1 on my new laptop. it then freaks out, says "Aiee, killing interrupt handler!" and then i guess everyone knows that the systems dead after that.
plase help

hmm, i sometimes get that same problem on my laptop when booting sometimes, i think i'ts unfortunately most likely a hardware problem you should check to see if your ide cables are seated properly, not broken in any way, same with the power connector to the drive if that doesn't work then i'ts probably the drive or your ide controller
