Hi,

this is a hardware issue. Do a smart check on the drive. Does this error occur every time or only when there is I/O on the disk??

its not the case with 1 server, but 5 servers & all are displaying same messages. i really doubt whether its a hardware issue.

Hi,

who's the hardware vendor of your servers? Sure the hardware is fully Linux supported from your vendor?

Did you check your hard drive settings which hdparm (or sdparm in case of scsi disks) ? This problems can occur in case of wrong ide transfer settings. For example when you define UDMA settings (hdparm -X 68) unsupported by the controller or disk.

You are saying that 5 servers started having problems with the cd at the same time?
Did you update the kernel recently?
