HD to HD an HD to DVD backup image

Douse anybody mined me asking about what might be an old question but one I'm having trouble finding answers to about backing up or imaging a harddrive to a harddrive and to a DVD within fedora 8 gnome?
I see allot of programs that work as live CD but I need something fore a one time backup and only really know how to use the desktop and sum terminal.
Also I cant spend allot.

Hi,
I was trying a backup solution using the "dd" command but the kind folk on here recommended "Parted Magic." A very small and neat liveCD distro which contains many many useful tools. I tried it and it worked beautifully so I pass on the recommendation.
Partition Image is the tool on the CD which makes copies / restores images of your HD.

Ya but I don't wont a Live CD and I already found my answers.
