Lightbulb HD erasing and installing


How to erase hard drive completely and install any kind of operating system?
I am having difficulty accesing my OP not even log in is possible. So erasing hard drive and install another OP was my idea. I do not have rescue disk available.
If somebody could help me, would appreciate!

Most OS's you install from will come with tools to parition/format, etc with when installing over any existing OS or even a clean hard drive.
