Question Having truoble installing downloads - Software Index is broken

This is a major failure of your softweasre management system. Please check for broken packatges withn synaptic, check the file permissions and correctness of the file '/etc/apt/ sources.list' and reload trhe software information with "sudo apt-get update' and sudo apt-get instal -f'.

The Geti Installer dosent seem to be able to load this is happining with the Google Chrome stable current i38g (1).deb

I also tried to download the free game Diablo-III-Setup-enUS.app with the same message keeps poping up! Any assistance would be appriciated

Sorry, try again.
[sudo] password for samuel:

samuel@samuel-Latitude-D630 ~ $ sudo apt-get clean
samuel@samuel-Latitude-D630 ~ $

The package installer still will not load?

Then I went to you tube and searched for simular topics and found these codes:

How to fix this problem:
1. Open terminal

2. Enter the following commands one by one:
sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/* -vf
sudo apt-get update

3. Done!

Now I have Skype and Google Chrome installed.

Oh Happy Day!
