having trouble starting program after update (I think its permission trouble)

Hello,

I recently updated my Gentoo computer and am facing a problem Ive never had before.

I cant start HandBrake(a dvd ripping program) as a user. If I am root it starts with no problems.

Here is my terminal when trying to start as my user:

Code:
petreuss@linux ~ $ ghb
ghb: error while loading shared libraries: libicui18n.so.48: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Im actually having quite a bit of trouble with this program after my update. Ive tried to re-emerge it with no success and Ive tried to rebuild it from source with no success. Both of what Ive done before.

Its still starting when I use root but thats not a really good way to use it.

Any ideas?

I'm no expert with Gentoo. In fact, I've never used it. Perhaps simply changing the permissions on that one file will work.

Have you done a whereis? I would see where it's at then go from there. You'll need to know it's location if you do need to change permissions.

Thank you for the advice. I changed the permissions to 777 but still not working.

Same error as before.

Also, I know they are there:

Code:
linux petreuss # whereis -f libicui18n.so.48
libicui18n.so: /usr/lib/libicui18n.so.49 /usr/lib/libicui18n.so /usr/lib64/libicui18n.so.49 /usr/lib64/libicui18n.so
