Having trouble installing PCI Serial Card

I have a generic PCI Serial Card that I'm trying to install on a vanilla install of Ubuntu 10.04. I don't know what brand it is and have long since lost any CD that came with it.

How can I even tell if Ubuntu sees the card?

Hi

You can use the lspci utility to see the brand and the type of your PCI card and search the web for hints.

lspci -vv|grep -i pci

Cheers.

Thanks guys - I wasn't able to get back to this project until this weekend, so I ordered an IDC10-DB9 adapter, which arrived just this morning. I plugged it in, turned on the machine, typed in 'apcaccess' (this is all about getting apcupsd to talk to my UPS) and it just worked.

Hopefully I'll never have to figure out how to use this card with Linux since I can't see any other use for a serial port on my Linux box.

Now on to configuring apcupsd...
