This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

Having trouble getting world of warcraft running on ubuntu 8.10
I am duel booting Windows xp and Ubuntu 8.10. I installed WOW on windows so I copied all the files from windows to a folder called world of warcraft 1 in my home on ubuntu. When I click lanucher.exe in the world of warcraft folder I get this.
My Archive manager says an "error has occured while loading the archive" (null)
Command line output
[/home/kyle/world of warcraft 1/Launcher.exe]
End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not
a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the
latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on
the last disk(s) of this archive.
note: /home/kyle/world of warcraft 1/Launcher.exe may be a plain executable, not an archive
zipinfo: cannot find zipfile directory in one of /home/kyle/world of warcraft 1/Launcher.exe or
/home/kyle/world of warcraft 1/Launcher.exe.zip, and cannot find /home/kyle/world of warcraft 1/Launcher.exe.ZIP, period.
You do not mention that you have installed or configured WINE. A Windows exe file can not be executed directly in linux. You need an intermediate layer that meet a Windows installation file as if it were in Windows. An alternative is to install a virtual machine in linux and Windows within that.
