when I try to copy a file (and this only with .exe files apparently) the copy process goes really fast at first till it gets to 27 or so MB. Then it starts to stutter, slow, then stall. Can anyone help me with this delimma?

Does it matter where in the Windows file system the *.exe files are located?? Maybe the physical location on the drive is bad, and Ubuntu cannot read the files?
It is one the NTFS partition of my 500GB which is 300GB. The file stops at 30 or MB and just crawls along. I just checked the disk and nothing is wrong. I also reformatd to see if that helped.
