Moved: This thread is more suitable in Linux-Newbie and has been moved accordingly to help your thread/question get the exposure it deserves.

Please start a new thread instead of posting to an existing unrelated topic. You have already been asked once. What distribution / version are you running. What wine version are you running?

Okay, since this question is'nt going to attrack a lot of people to answer (understandeably), let's go through the checklist:

Where does illustrator die?
What do you do when it dies? (gradient, fills, lines, whatever)
What's the condition of the host system? Run LSHW and look for CPU, memoy, harddrive
How is wine configured? Does the software have enough arm room?

I see you're pretty new here. So let me run it by you :) - if you want questions answered, we need some details about your system/software and so on. That way you help us help you, gottit?

Luck, and welcome to the forums! We'll try to help ya, if possible, but you'll have to ask questions the smart(er) way...

Basically it comes down to this; Because you are trying to run an application built to be run on Microsoft Windows on a operating system that is not Microsoft Windows.

WINE is not Microsoft Windows, it is an attempt at implementing the Microsoft Windows APIs to allow applications written for Windows to be used on other operating systems. It is a massively impressive attempt, but it is by no means guaranteed to be able to run any given application perfectly or even at all. Sadly applications which work with one version of WINE sometimes don't work with newer versions of WINE. (I sometimes use WINE to play Dungeon Keeper II and once had to install an old version of WINE to get it to work.) WINE will not let you run any application built for Windows on Linux but it will let you run some applications built for Windows on Linux with varying degrees of success.
