HAving dependency problems in installing QGIS on Fedora Core 1

I am having repetitve demand for some .la file while installing Quantum GIS on Fedora Core 1 Kerenel: . I keep installling some rpm for fulfilling demand.
Currently i am not able to find for FC1.
Can anybody guide me?

Hi linux_accd,
installing rpms may seem easy enough for everyone but one of the major drawbacks of rpm is what you have seen now. it complaints of dependecies most time. the right solution for this is that you compile and install from a software tarball. you can get this by a bit of googling . just unpack it and go through the readme file, which will give you the install options. most people use this option since it directly probes the system software and installs everything the software needs and does not complain of a dependecy.... if anything goes wrong feel free to contact through this forum....
