No you can't, because there are files and items of data you can't transfer via copy and paste (I.E. MBR). You'd have to use a utility such as DD to get a proper copy and that would likely need another device to create the DD to.
I would advise however making a back-up procedure in the case of a server and just backing up the data that needs to be backed up with a method to reinstall the server quickly and replacing the data in the case of failure.
