New to linux and i now have no flashplayer.

If you are new to Linux I assume that this is a fresh install of Ubuntu. In that case I would strongly recommend to start over with a newer version of Ubuntu, 10.10 is not supported anymore, you will get neither bugfixes nor security updates for it. The current versions for Ubuntu are 12.04 LTS (5 years support) and 12.10 (18 months support).
If you have installed a newer version you can easily install the Flashplayer using the Software Center.
