Have problem listening to Internet Radio
I am using Ubuntu 5.04 and want to listen to tpr.org whcih gives the listener a choice of players:
Windows Media (Optimized for Voice) Windows Media (Voice & Music) Apple iTunes Real Player Quicktime Winamp Open Standard MP3 What is the best choice of these? AFAIK neither the first three nor Quicktime are Linux proggies. Clicking on Realplayer gave me " Totem Movie Player " which attempted to open it and kept buffering, but never opened. Clicking on either Winamp or Open Standard MP3 defaulted to a choice of opening it with Rhythmbox or "other". I looked at other but couldn't find any, so Rhythmbox it was. When I clicked on the new title which had been added to the list, an error message opened displaying: " There is no element present to handle the stream's mime type audio/mpeg. " What is wrong and/or how do I fix it? TIA |
need to install ffmpeg and maybe win32-codecs.

The Unofficial Ubuntu Starter Guide is great - the Breezy version is here. Section 7.19 tells how to install XMMS and associate M3U files (which is what the tpr.org Open Standard MP3 link is).
