Have Logwatch mail attachments

Can logwatch be configured to email it's contents as an attachment rather then email content?

Can't see any setting for this in logwatch.conf. But maybe there is some sort of workaround?

On Fedora 2 btw.

Cheers

Logwatch does not support this. If you know how to work with perl (and maybe also MIME) you could edit the scripts yourself to add support for this feature.
Why do you need this?

The content of these files on some machines is quite extensive and takes a long time to open in email.

Maybe you could set up procmail to intercept the mail, save it to disk, and send you the filename.

sorry for drudging up an extremely old post. however, if the coders for logwatch read this, having the option of context or attachment would be nice. I have my logwatch reports emailed to my spiceworks system to have tickets created for techs to review the reports each day, and the contents exceed the charactor limit of the ticket notes... so my reports get cut off. I'm sure there are other situations similar to this that would warrant the feature request.

thanks!
