Have I Debian or Mint?

One week ago a local shop installed Linux on my computer. He said it was Debian. I've been fumbling around in it since (and learning a bit) but all I see is "Linux Mint".

What's the problem?

I have several zillion other questions, but this is #1.

Linux Mint is Debian-based
lsb_release -a
