hate it,but - nVidia problem

Ok,it is 2nd time I do MDK 9.1 installing.1st time I did those nVidia drivers after many problems as newbie succesfully.

But today I'm doing new installing MDK and I'm stoped at nVidia driver.

First I tried the new driver 5328-pkg1,xf86config,vi to change everything as MasterC helped me before:

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ghlight=NVIDIA

But didn't make it this time.

SO I found here that ppls had probs with new driver.

Then I tried older one I know and installed before ok,4496-pkg2.

But same result.

Got error:

(EE) NVIDIA(0): no display subsection in screen section "screen1" for depth/fbbpp 8/8

Does any1 knows what I missed?

I did:

sh NVIDIA.....

xf86config

vi /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 ....and made everything as URL above says.....

Otherwise I wouldn't bother here.I was searching but couldn't found it.

Pls does any1 have any clue?

Thanks a lot,

still trying

well what I found is that in xf86config is in monitor settings Horizontal and Vertical settings set up correctly, but in section "screen" resolutions are not even when I do changes.( I think there I was wrong, set only 1024-768 & 800-600)

And when I look in xf86config-4 ,there is totally different monitor,Horizontal & Vertical and screen resolutions.

I wish I could post u some log or semething but can't.I'm now on other box.

How will I change it?

Pls help me some1.I'll appreciate it.

ok

Juchuuuu...it is working now .)

I thougt that there is something wrong to hove 2 different xf86config.

I did exactly what Arun told at my first installation few months ago:

http://linuxquestions.org/questions/...hreadid=102810

edit:

use 'xf86config'.this will create a new X config file.(/etc/X11/XF86Config)
remove any XF86Config-4 files.(cp /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 /etc/X11/XF86Config-4.bak,rm /etc/X11/XF86Config-4).remove all X log files.(rm /var/log/XFree*).then do a 'startx'.if that doesnt work,list the errors found in the new X log file.
--arun

That was all I had to do,just removed its XF86Config-4.

Jesus.I'm so happy. Finally can go sleep

Well my eth is not working yet but that's another story.

Sorry for posting to myself.Learning everyday.
