has any one used geubuntu

hello, I tried to install this one but it screwed up my graphics. Not permentantly but my screen looked really jagged. But the stuff i read about it sounds appealing...

" Geubuntu is buggy "

I've tried geubuntu yesterday and now I know why the big Linux distros have not adopted "enlightenment" yet..."Its very buggy!"

After I downloaded geubuntu from distrowatch.com, I burned it to a blank cd and proceeded to check out the disto. I liked what I saw and decided to do an install. Well without going into details I'll just say that the LiveCD is a bit buggy. When I went to click the install icon, its response was very slow. Then the distro frozen up so I managed to reboot and gave it another go. It then took me to the logon screen which it didn't do before so I didn't know what the password was. I rebooted again ( I'm a glutton for punishment ok? )and this time I got it to install with no problems. It looks nice but I saw nothing different than if I installed the theme package on another distro. Then other things started acting werid. I couldn't take it and decided to uninstall vowing never to install another e17 distro or theme again untill a final version is released..."Period!"

Well, I don't whats going on...in the past two days I have tried three different distros..I started with Ubuntu which installed fine and runs bug free. But it was a little slow and my system is an old but upgraded P III with 512 mb ram. I started thinking I will challenge myself with slackware but for some reason the slackware cd ( bought from a distributor ) would not boot. BIOS boot sequence was ok as other distros were booting. So i burnt an ISO but the checksums were not same.

I tried gebuntu the screen or video card was really fuzzy causing me to abandon the install.

I then tried to install XBUNTU. The live cd booted fine. I clicked on install and it went through the full install without any errors. But when it asked me to reboot it just hung on black screen with my monitor screen lights continously flashing green.

I tried same with PC Linux MiniMe again same as XBUNTU. It installed very quickly but on reboot I just get a black screen with ERROR 24.

Something tells me my onboard video might be screwed.. will have to try other distros tomorrow...and let you know...might try resetting defaults in my bios

Good luck Siawash...

Hope it goes well for you. But take my advice and stay away from e17 distros and stick with the try and true ones. KDE 4 is coming out in January and looks to be very nice. I'm back to using Kubuntu and will stick with this puppy for sure.

( Or till they release a stable version of "Enlightenment") ;-)

I have kubuntu, ubuntu, xubuntu, mythubuntu and geubuntu on my system...i like them all and will occassionaly pop into the other sessions but I really love geubuntu. I have been using enlightenment for about a year and
have had no show stopping problems. E17 is in constant developement, but it is very mature ...if a a bug appears, a little patience in a couple of days it is resolved. My answer go a head, but also have the main official *buntus to fall back on ...should you be temporarily denied your beautiful desktop.
