Question Hardware Profile Question

Hi guys,

Ok, first off, I've never used Linux before and got a copy of Redhat Enterprise 5 off a sys admin buddy so that I could practice. At home, I have a beefed up PC with several hundreds gigs of disk space. I was interested in using VMWARE to set up a virtual box for Enterprise 5 that I can put web apps on.

My question is, will Redhat Enterprise 5 actually install on a PC with the following hardware?:

Intel Core 2 Extreme processor QX6850
processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sspec=slafn

Intel® Desktop Board D975XBX2 ATX
intel.com/products/motherboard/D975XBX2/index.htm

Corsair TWIN2X2048-8500C5 (4 gigs)
corsair.com/_datasheets/TWIN2X2048-8500C5.pdf

2 (RAID-0) Hard Drives

WD Raptor 150 GB SATA Hard Drives 150 GB, 1.5 Gb/s, 16 MB Cache, 10,000 RPM

That's easily found out by starting the installer - and if you're planning to install it to a virtual machine with VMware, then it's even more painless as you can't wreck anything.

Thanks for the speedy response, b0uncer. I guess I'll just dive in and see what becomes of it. I'm glad the VMWare will keep me protected. Just curious if anyone has actually installed Enterprise 5 on a PC ??
