Hardware Info for Mint 13
Checked..no one has an answer posted to this..I'm trying to find out if I can put Linux Mint 13 on my PC..has XP-sp3 now..but it will be ending soon, and I really want to get away from the treadmill with MS.So here's the specs:Dell Optiplex GX270

Well, I'm running Debian Squeeze on a P4 with 4GB RAM and it runs just fine. I would expect Mint to do the same.
I do use a lightweight desktop environment, not because Gnome or KDE has given me any issues, but simply because I likes me my Fluxbox. |

Rather than asking if it would work, might it be easier to download and make a live CD which you can boot up and check out without harming your existing XP system? If you like it, you can then install it directly from the live CD. The link below is for Mint 14.

Was told at the Mint site that that distro would not work on my PC..have gotten 13-Maya, and will try it.
