hardly any room on a 552.6 GB hard drive!
I tried to install Linux Cinnamon 20.2 from a USB Flash.Message pops up only 424mb on my hard drive.
System info shows hard drive 552.6 GB that should be more than enough? I have Linux Cinnamon 18.1 64 bit currently on my laptop. With that much hard drive how can I be down to 424 mb trying to install Linux cinnamon 20.2? Also, tried again and the install gets stuck on the 'trying to get the time from a network', probably looking for a wifi connection but I use hot spot. When the 20.2 version has been installed, does it delete the 18,1 version? I probably didn't get far enough into the installation since another two or three messages popped up as well so I stuck with 18.1 version for now. |
Please show output from the following for your 552.6GB HDD:
Code:
sudo parted -l |

Your previous version is likely taking up all the disk, if upgrading make sure it allows using you present /home in the new install, but you should really have a backup of all your personal data on external media, so that it can be reinstalled in an emergency.

Hi thanks all!
I rebooted the laptop and checked how the hard drive GB was being used. It showed almost equally for 18.2 and 20.2. So erased everything and re-installed 20.2 and its working great! |
