Hard Drive problems

Hi everyone. I have had some weird problems with my hard drive. I don't have the "normal" type of data cable and I have only been able to install Mandrake (10) because Red Hat 9 and Debian (latest stable) have not been able to find my hard drive device. Does anyone have a clue as to what the problem is? I seem to have a "ultra ATA" controller.

Then you should try with a 80-conductor cable (http://www.pcguide.com/ref/hdd/if/id...Cable80-c.html).

Hope I could help.
