Hi there

I'm trying to install Linux onto my computer. I have two hard drives, an 18gig and a 6gig. Both these hard drives were wiped of all partitions so I'm using Knoppix 3.9 to connect to the internet for help.

Now when I tried to use the knoppix hdiinstall commands nothing worked.
I tried to cfdisk the drives but they couldn't be opened.
I then tried the partition editor which listed all my drives and let me partition them and format them properly, apparently.
So then I tried the hd install again and still nothing happened. I waited for about 5 minutes then Ctrl+C'd it.

If anyone has any ideas how I can get my hard drives working so I can do a proper installation it would be appreciated

There are loads of sites if you search google. From what i've heard it's NOT recommended to try and install Knoppix to your hdd.
