Hard disk problem
 
Hello every one

Am getting below error messages in RHCL 5 version after this error message system hang . I need to reboot the system to work normally . How to solve this problem help me

hda: status timeout: status=0xd0 { Busy }
ide: failed opcode was: unknown
hda: no DRQ after issuing MULTWRITE_EXT
ide0: reset: success

Go to the hard drive manufacturer's website and download their hard drive diagnostics iso; the main manufacturers have diagnostic utilities on their websites. Burn the iso to a CD-R and boot of the CD-R. Run the diagnostics in thorough mode; it will take several hours to run.

Those type of error messages could indicate a hard drive that is starting to fail. The diagnostic utilities should be able to detect any potential problems with the hard drive. You probably want to back up any data on that drive as well.
