Hard Disk Partition

How to create a new hard disk partition ?

My hard disk has 3 Partitions

/dev/hda1 /boot
/dev/hda2 /root
/dev/hda3 /swap

I gave the command

fdisk /dev/hda4

To Create another Partition

it is Giving

Unable to read /dev/hda4

What 's wrong with me?

can u please explain?

it's due to the fact that /dev/hda4 does not exist

you will only be able to create a partition if you have any free space. If not then you'll have to resize your partitions...

fdisk -l to see what you have on your hard drive.
