Halloween prank

How do I flash a picture (jack o lantern jpg) across the user's screen while he's logged in a system? I have full access to the system via SSH.

Put it in autorun

If he is using KDE.
Write a script to display the image. Use any image viewer available.
And put it in his .kde/Autorun directory in home directory. It will run each time the person logins.
There may be similar thing in gnome also.

I would say 1) leaving too many traces is bad and 2) you shouldn't do this unless you know that it will not be harmful, so choose the moment wisely, ssh into the box, copy (as root) /home/user/.Xauthority to /tmp and run "XAUTHORITY=/tmp.Xauthority DISPLAY=:0 display pumpkin.jpg". Hit Ctrl-C and logout before target manages to close the window for the best effect..

Automating doesn't let you te check that the moment is suitable right before doing it.
