HAL Trouble in Fedora 8 LiveCD

Hello.

I've downloaded and burnt the Fedora 8 i686 LiveCD and tried to boot from it (I'm using an external CD-RW). Everything goes fine 'till he gets to the part "Starting HAL Daemon". And then it says FAILED. After that, I get a whole lot of text swooshing down on my screen something with "binary"-whatever.

I have an ASUS Z8110PT, with an ATi Mobility Radeon 9700, P4 Processor, 512 Mb RAM.

Any ideas?
