i have an hp laptop and have linux mint. i accidently locked my mouse. how do i unlock it?

I'm not sure what you mean. Can you explain the symptoms of you having "locked" your mouse? Maybe your battery ran out. Also it might help to know what kind of mouse you're using.

In addition to the above... I have sometimes had to unplug and replug a wireless USB mouse to get it to be working. This appeared to be related to a driver disabling the mouse due to too many/bad wireless connections (possibly caused by a weak battery) overloading a buffer. Pulling the interface out of the USB allowed the driver to be reinitialized.
