gzip append file
 

I have a existing zipped file , I want to use gzip command to append some files to it , I tried man gzip but can't find the key word "append" , can advise how can I do it ? thx

Why can't you gunzip it, add the files, then gzip it back up? And speaking of which, are you sure it is only gzip'd, or tar-balled then gzip'd? Hope that helps.
