GUI in Red Hat Linux 9?

Hi everybody. Im an MS database guy. Ive never even seen any version of Linux but Im considering learning Oracle and I want to do it on a Linux OS. I went and looked at a book today for Red Hat Linux 9 and 95% of the examples given were done in code. Does Linux have a GUI? Can you do most tasks using it? Im sure even if its got a GUI there are lots of die-hards that like to code (as I do in MSSQL) but I want to ease into it gradually if possible.

Thanks, Chris

Can most administrative tasks be accomplished with it?

In my opinion yes, I am still new to it and i am very much enjoying everything that your are able to do in both the Gui and the Command line... but i dont know oracle and i am a student just learnign it...so you can judge my post accordingly...=P

I also agree that most things can be done with the GUI. I do encourage you to learn what system changes are actually occurring with those point and click. You really may be surprised how simple a linux system is and ultimately find that the CLI faster and easier for many tasks. It is kind of nice to know how a system works.
