gui frambuffer question
 

Does linux gui or x window always use framebuffer?
if not always, how do i check in linux whether it's using frame buffer or not ?

No, in fact if your X windows was using the framebuffer, you would know it. It may be enabled, but it usually goes unused in favor of straight X.
