GUI based Backup & Recovery Software
Looking for backup & recovery software that takes incremental backups and stores only deltas to an external hard drive or any other location. And recovers in need.
Tried Backup & Recover by OpenSUSE and its not working fine and taking long times. Also its not incremental. No directory or file comparison included in this version. I am not looking for Ghost Writer kind of thing but a simple software that clones directories and stores any modifications in a very intelligent and storage efficient manner. If document management is included as one of the feature, its an added advantage. Any suggestions, please? |

Here is a listing of backup tools:
http://www.linuxlinks.com/Software/Backup/ My preference is the command line tool DAR (which also has a GUI frontend called Kdar). The tutorial which describes Dar is here: http://dar.linux.free.fr/doc/Tutorial.html. Depending on your programming skills, you could also use the Dar API to add/alter features to suit your needs. Explore the Dar website; look into the Documentation. |
