Gui
Hi everybody!
I'm very new to Linux, although convinced that this is the OS of my choice in the future. However, before I start learning everything about Linux, I have a question about the GUI. See, the thing is that I'm sick and tired of the standard GUI's with window managers etc. Even OsX is becoming boring, even though it is the nicest looking one on the market. So, my thought is simply that as soon as I get a new computer and install Linux I'd like to program my own GUI. However, I have no clue in what langue to program this, or what software to use. Does anyone have any suggestions? Oh, and by the way, I have already checked KDE and Gnome, but it's not what I'm looking for, even though it's really nice. |
Just pick the language that you are most comfortable with and start developing. Window managers have been written in a variety of languages, even Perl.

Cool, thanks! I'll get right on to it and I promise you it'll be something really great when it's finished!
