GTK help

hey guys just a question on GTK ....

Im trying to get pyslsk (linux version of soulseek) and it needed python 2.3 wich i downloaded and compiled and everything was fine ... it also required me to install wxpython 2.4.1 wich also i did do from source and everything was fine now when i try running pyslsk i get this error..

[jmkerica@dhcp-203-44002 jmkerica]$ pyslsk
Can not find wxPython modules. Either wxPython is not
installed, or it's not in Python's module search path (it could be built
for a different version of python interpreter for example). The current
search path is
['/usr/bin', '/usr/lib/', '/usr/lib/python2.3', '/usr/lib/python2.3/plat-linux2', '/usr/lib/python2.3/lib-tk', '/usr/lib/python2.3/lib-dynload', '/usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages', '/usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/Numeric', '/usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/gtk-2.0']

any help would be great as im having problems

Im running mandrake 9.2 under kde for this one

Your wxPython is probably in /usr/local. It's not in the Python search path. You can do two things:
1) Find it on your drive and symlink the modules to /usr/lib/python2.3/ (more work)
2) Compile wxPython again giving the configure script --prefix parameter. The configure line would look like
./configure --prefix=/usr/lib/python2.3
