GTK+/GTK and .xsession/.xinitrc
Two part question:
This may sound silly, but is GTK+ the same thing as GTK? I've been figuring most things out for myself for the past month or so and this is something that has eluded me. I've already searched the forums on this but can't find a straight answer. Another thing I can't seem to find a straight answer on is this - if I'm using a graphical logon (i.e. kdm/gdm) am I using .xsession or .xinitrc? I've seen people convinced of both on these forums. I'm using kdm going into Fluxbox and when I made a .xinitrc file in my home directory, the changes do happen - but from most posts I've seen, that shouldn't be! Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks for readin. -sekhmet |
GTK and GTK+ are entirely equivalent.
.xinitrc vs .xsession -> both are used normally, though it sometimes depends on the exact setup of your distro/DM |
Thanks, that clears things up a bit.
