GTK+-2.2 installation problems

Hi there :]

I have such error after runnig ./configure for GTK+-2.2:

checking for XOpenDisplay in -lX11... no
configure: error: *** libX11 not found. Check 'config.log' for more details.

The thing is that I DO have the libX11 library:

[root@localhost gtk+-2.2.0]# find / -name "libX11*"

I'm running RH 8.0 @ xfree

Please help! ))
