Gstreamer backend error: the autoaudiosink element is not working.

Hi there.

Linux newb. Running arch linux after only three attempts... But no sound. Installed the catalyst-dkms proprietary driver for amd as per the arch wiki. Alsa, alsa-utils, etc. have been installed. Sound is up and unmuted in the alsamixer.

$ speaker-test -c 2

speaker-test 1.0.26

Playback device is default
Stream parameters are 48000Hz, S16_LE, 2 channels
Using 16 octaves of pink noise
ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:1018snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave
Playback open error: -2,No such file or directory

$ lspci | grep Audio

After many days of forum browsing I decided to settle for a more user friendly distro for the time being.
