GRUB2 installed from Linux Mint Debian xfce onto ThinkPad x120e not working
I got just recently a new ThinkPad x120e, and installed Linux Mint Debian xfce onto it. The installation went relatively smoothly, but after rebooting, I got the 'Operating System not found' error. I reinstalled the OS, to the same result.
I am relatively certain the problem is with GRUB2 as I can boot into the OS from SystemRescueCD. Does anybody know how to solve this? |
Did you install Grub to the Root Directory or the Master Boot Record (MBR). When you install to the entire hard drive you have to do the MBR.

I installed to the Master Boot Record rather than a specific partition, yes.

This thread might be more helpful than I. I would pay close attention to the replies from NEXUS and EDDY1:
