GRUB version 0.93 problem
Well I'm a new user to linux and I liked but I have a problem rigth now because I have fedora core 1 install on my pc in a particion, and I was going to change to fedora 6. The problem is as follows I did something that I consider really stupid rigth now but was done is done.
I log to the windows partition and formated the linux partitions when I restarted the OS the GRUB had and error so I reinstall windows but still get the error is like is trying to load linux, Well I think that it can be fix if I reistall fedora core 1, but what I want is to know if I can remove GRUB 0.93 because I want to install linux in a external hard drive that I have. Thanks in advance. |
Boot the XP CD, hit the <r> key when it says;
- enter fixmbr - reboot. Be very careful with the install of FC6; you don't want it to over-write the MBR of your internal disk, or you'll have the same problem again if you boot without the external plugged in. |
thanks sig00
thanks that did the trick, now I will proceed to install on my external drive.syg00
