grub re-writing

hi,
i i want to re-wright the grub and boot entries. i want to remove a boot entry from boot menu. i used lilo before but i dont know how to do it in grub and where is grub configuration file. or is there any tool for it.
i have ubuntu on my system.

The configuration file is

/boot/grub/menu.lst

It is well commented - so read it first.
