Grub packed up and left
In what I thought would be a simple way to do things I used a windows xp install disk to set up a partition out of some unused/unpartitioned hard drive space, then exited the setup program. The thing is, I think it overwrote the MBR and now the machine boots straight into Windows. I did make a boot diskette for linux, but I'm setting this machine up for my boss, and I don't think he'd be overly joyed about using the start up disk.

How can I fix the mbr to use grub?

Thanks for the help.

Boot into linux with the boot disk. Then in terminal as root do

grub-install /dev/hda

to put grub on the MBR of the Master Harddrive on the first IDE channel. Then edit menu.lst in /boot/grub/ (may be called different ..grub.conf) to boot the windows partition.
