Grub on a Mac

I have a duel boot Ubuntu/Mac system (sort of) running on my Mac. I'm able to access Ubuntu OK but if I try and run OSX it will take about five mins. to boot up or it wont do it at all. Then to get grub to work again I need to reinstall refit E.G
cd /efi/refit
./enable.sh
Then I can bet Grub running and into Ubuntu. One funny though is that is instead of waiting the 10 sec. I push enter it will not work. (:-(
Any idea's?

Try to get Grub to work just on your Mac first if it's a Mac computer.

There is a way to invoke the Grub shell terminal when you are booting that would help you experiment. The title would have looked funny without a post underneath it. Ya know what I mean? It is true though.

I'm not sure what you are talking about. Please give some more detail.

is it an intel or ppc mac?
either way i don't think the mac firmware and grub get along very well especially powerpc macs
there are alternative bootladers for linux specific for macs, i could be wrong when it comes to intel macs since my experience is limited to linux on powerpc macs which use yaboot, tho intel macs might use grub

It is an intel
